Top Risks For Local Businesses
September 12, 2022
The disruption generated by COVID-19 has accelerated digital transformation among businesses and organizations worldwide. Cyberattacks affect everyone, but small firms appear to be one of the most popular targets. Here are a few cybersecurity dangers that firms should be prepared to manage:
Supply chain attacks
Supply chain cyberattacks will continue to create new chances for cybercriminals this year.
Mobile devices
COVID-19 has resulted in an increase in mobile device usage to conduct business. Not only do remote users rely more heavily on mobile devices, but the increase in user base has created a broader target for cybercriminals.
Remote workers
A firewall and staff awareness along with tight policies and training can be used to prevent basic cybersecurity threats within an organization’s setup. However, when people work remotely implementing cybersecurity precautions becomes more complicated. Sixty-eight percent of senior IT professionals believe their staff has picked up negative cyber-security behaviors while working from home.
Cloud Vulnerabilities
Most believe that the Cloud has become more secure over time, but this is not necessarily the case. According to IBM, over the last five years Cloud vulnerabilities have increased by 159 percent. Verizon’s 2021 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) noted that web applications in the Cloud represent 39% of all breaches.
