Our History

The Armstrong Company Insurance Consultants opened for business in Pasadena, California in 1972 with one Broker; Desmond Armstrong and one part time assistant. The company focused on the Commercial Lines, Property Casualty, Specialty Lines and Specialty Bonds marketplace.

Experiencing consistent growth, the Company moved to Torrance, California in 1975, using its expertise to provide insurance for a wide spectrum of businesses based in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties with business exposure in the USA and Canada.

During the 1980’s The Armstrong Company Insurance Consultants continued to grow and expand through a formalized plan of acquisition and specialization among which were specifically designed programs for the Restaurant, Timeshare and Resort Industries. These programs proved effective in the rebuilding, reconstruction and renovation of clients’ properties in the wake of natural disasters like fire, hurricane and earthquake.  Today, as a major writer of hospitality business, it services one of the world’s largest timeshare management companies.

In 1988, the Company completed the acquisition of a large Personal Lines Agency.  In 1992, a plan to differentiate each area of expertise within the Company resulted in four separate divisions: Commercial Lines, Employee Benefits/Financial Services, Hospitality and Leisure, and Personal Lines.

Among its many specializations, The Armstrong Company is focused on new lines of coverage that are relevant to the evolving business climate regardless of business size or industry type.  Cyber liability is a risk for most businesses and managing cyber risks is expected to grow over time as companies become increasingly aware that current/standard business policies do not adequately cover cyber risks.
