The Armstrong Company, Insurance Consultants Announces Stacey Shilling has joined as Chief Operating Officer

December 18, 2023–Los Angeles, California– The Armstrong Company, Insurance Consultants celebrating the 50th year of its founding in 2023 has announced that it has hired industry veteran Stacey Shilling as its first Chief Operating Officer. Armstrong was founded and has been led for the past 5 decades by Desmond Armstrong, who built the property and casualty insurance agency into one of the pre-eminent firms with a specialty in the independent resort marketplace (timeshare, exchange, vacation owners).

Stacey Shilling joins The Armstrong Company after spending the last year with Bitterroot Holdings LLC as the Director of Performance Management and Operations for the independent operator of storage facilities.  Shilling spent the previous three-plus decades in a series of executive leadership positions with Vacation Resorts International all in Operations, Property Management, Systems, Safety and Expansion efforts.

“Stacey joining our firm underlines the beginning of the transition in our legacy for The Armstrong Company to seek new growth organically among our client base while we also now can consider additional growth through acquisition,” said Desmond Armstrong, noting he will now move to a Chairman and President role focused on strategy while giving the day-to-day operating responsibilities to Shilling. “Stacey’s vast experience leading organizations to profitable growth while building greater value add for the services we provide to our clients and the insurance carriers we partner with can accelerate the offerings that The Armstrong Company built its reputation upon,” said Armstrong.  The Armstrong Company has been a leader in developing comprehensive support services for independent resorts, timeshare, exchange, and vacation owner organizations for property management, liability coverage and adverse weather damage, and disaster recovery and mitigation needs for the last 40 years.  The Armstrong Company programs work with the resort management, insurance adjusters and mitigation expert teams at the moment of greatest need when weather-related damages occur, often being first on the scene coordinating and facilitating how coverage becomes enablement for recovery and continuing operations.

Desmond Armstrong believes the opportunity to accelerate the insurance broker’s client base by way of acquisition can be a focus area now that Shilling can pick up the leadership of the daily operations and veteran team already in place.
